Clearance process

From fire tocounty clearance

How Alliance takes a fire-damaged property from first call to formal clearance.

Seven steps

The clearanceprocess

  1. Site assessment

We visit the property, document conditions and identify likely hazardous materials.

  2. Work plan & paperwork

We prepare the site-specific work plan and submit the required paperwork to the county.

  3. Hazmat testing

Asbestos, lead, ash and soil samples go to an accredited lab so cleanup is based on actual results.

  4. Hazardous materials removal

Asbestos-containing materials and household hazardous waste are removed and disposed of properly first.

  5. Debris & soil removal

Remaining debris, ash and contaminated soil are removed.

  6. Confirmation sampling

Post-cleanup samples confirm the site meets clearance standards.

  7. Agency clearance

We work with the local agency until the property is formally cleared for rebuilding.

Why order matters: hazardous materials have to be identified and removed before general debris. Skipping testing can spread asbestos or contaminated ash, stall clearance and add cost.
